So, how does this work?

Step 1: You or your veterinarian feels your pet needs to have their teeth cleaned

Maybe there’s a smell in their mouth? Maybe your cat can’t eat hard food anymore? Maybe there is a change in the color of their teeth. Regardless of the issue, either you or your vet feels a dental cleaning is needed. This is step one.

Step 2: Your veterinarian schedules a procedure with us OR You schedule a consultation appointment with us

As only veterinarians know what is truly required and needed for a procedure, we leave the scheduling up to them. Each animal needs to have bloodwork done (Chemistry, CBC, and Heartworm testing for dogs) within 30 days of the procedure. If you do not have a vet, Dr. DeMarco will let you know what options we have before the procedure.

OR

If you choose, you can book a consultation appointment with us so that Dr. DeMarco can talk with you about your needs and look at your pet’s mouth. We can talk about your bloodwork needs and how we can accomplish this if it has not been done in the past 30 days.

Step 3: We will provide an estimate for the procedure

Regardless if you come recommended by your vet or through a consultation appointment, we will provide you with a custom estimate for the procedure. This is an UPFRONT approach meaning what we estimate is what you will pay.

Step 4: Our DVDP team will complete the scheduling process

Because DVDP travels to different veterinary hospitals with our staff and equipment, and last-minute cancellations create a unique problem for our practice, we take a $200 non-refundable deposit to hold and schedule your appointment spot. Once this is received, your appointment time is secured. We will discuss with you exactly what will happen in the procedure, what to expect on the day of surgery, and how we accept payment.

Step 5: Day of Surgery

You and your pet will come to the hospital where the procedure is scheduled. Your pet will stay with us throughout the day. We will be in close contact via phone or text, whichever you prefer. After the procedure, we will follow up, go through discharge instructions, and make sure you are comfortable with what to expect for the next few days. Most pets will be discharged between 3-6 pm, but this will be dependent on the hours of that hospital. We will follow up with you in the days to come just to make sure everything is going as expected!

Up Front Pricing & Plans

Each pet will be evaluated to determine the most comprehensive and honest plan to ensure your pet receives everything they need.

What we quote is what you pay!
  • Before we can schedule your appointment, your pet will need an exam with a veterinarian. This vet will send DVDP the records that explain their overall health and concerns. They will also send DVDP pictures of the mouth so we can help determine the best estimate for care. If you do not have a vet, Dr. DeMarco will let you know what options we have before the procedure.

  • Each pet will need bloodwork to make sure they are healthy enough for the procedure. This can be done by your regular vet and needs to be done no more than 30 days before the scheduled dental procedure. If your veterinarian determines additional diagnostics this will be discussed before the procedure.

  • Once DVDP evaluates the records, pictures, and bloodwork, we will provide you with an estimate for the cost of the procedure. We work on a tiered level of estimates but the estimate you receive is what you will pay. The ONLY exception to this is if we find something very out of the ordinary such as cancer or your pet has an unforeseen problem during anesthesia. Estimates for our basic cleanings and extractions start at $699. This includes the hospital stay, full anesthesia, dental x-ray,s and cleanings.
